The night before Super Bowl XLIX, the NFL will salute its best players and plays from the 2014 season with "NFL Honors," a star-studded football and entertainment event hosted by Seth Meyers from Symphony Hall at the Phoenix Convention Center. Odell Beckham Jr. got off to a late start, but boy did he ever make up for missed time
After a slow start due to injuries, Odell Beckham Jr. became a force to be reckoned with as the season wore on. He is a threat to beat the defense deep, as well as a terror after the catch. He forced defenses to adjust their coverages to him or pay the consequences.

In Year 1, Beckham emerged as one of the NFL's most dangerous players
I know he missed a handful of games, but Beckham was still the most impressive rookie this season. He put up monster numbers down the stretch and established himself as one of the most electric playmakers in the entire league.

Over the course of the entire season, no rookie was better than Zack Martin
I've committed a lot of ink to this award in my column work for NFL.com throughout the season. And over the course of all 17 weeks, no rookie was more routinely great, important and steady than Dallas Cowboys right guard Zack Martin. Tony Romo had the best season of his career -- so did DeMarco Murray. It's not a coincidence that it all came together for Dallas in Martin's debut campaign.
Odell Beckham Jr. had the sizzle. Martin had the true game-changing, season-altering play at guard that propelled the Cowboys to a surprising division title.

Beckham enjoyed the most impressive rookie season by any receiver since Randy Moss
After missing the first four games of the season, Odell Beckham Jr. absolutely torched the competition. Even though part of his emergence could be due to the frantic pace at which teams had to prepare for him, he had the most eye-opening season for a rookie wide receiver since Randy Moss. That's saying something.

Beckham and Martin stand out above all others
This one is so tough. I am going with Odell Beckham Jr. But it should be said that it is kind of a crock that a quarterback, running back or wide receiver wins this award every year. Zack Martin was the only rookie to earn first-team All-Pro honors. Yet, Beckham had that rare Randy Moss-like rookie season that made everyone stand up and take notice. To me, it's these two guys -- and then everybody else.

New York landed a true No. 1 receiver with the No. 12 pick
Odell Beckham Jr. is my selection as the Offensive Rookie of the Year. The Giants' first-round pick was sensational during his first season, topping the 1,000-yard mark and emerging as a premier No. 1 receiver. Moreover, he made the biggest impact of any rookie in the league despite missing training camp and Big Blue's first four games. With that in mind, Beckham deserves to be recognized as the top overall first-year player in the NFL.

OBJ was absolutely unstoppable over the final two months of the season
New York's current favorite son made more memorable catches than any other NFL player in 2014. Heck, his pregame warmups were scheduled viewing. Beckham finished with 91 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 appearances. Even crazier: Beckham didn't eclipse 44 yards receiving in any of his first three games; in his final nine contests, the rookie averaged 133.2 yards per game. Averaged!

Martin and Bitonio deserve mention, but Beckham's a slam-dunk pick
Has to be Beckham. I loved the play of Zack Martin -- and think Joel Bitonio deserves recognition, too -- but Beckham has all the marks of a special player. His athleticism is a once-in-a-generation joy to watch, and he tangibly changed New York's offense down the stretch. He has the chance to extend Eli Manning's career by years if he continues to play this way.

Sure, Beckham made one of the best catches in football history, but it's the full résumé that secures my vote for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Despite missing the first month of the season, Beckham ranked in the top 10 in catches (91), yards (1,305) and receiving touchdowns (12).

Give Martin his due, but Beckham's a runaway winner
Vapid cynics might suggest Odell Beckham Jr.'s rise to prominence is owed to one or two spectacular catches, but for people who watched more than just the postgame highlights, the receiver's production was as steady as it was spectacular. Zack Martin deserves heaps of praise for his impact from Day 1 ... but c'mon! This one doesn't require any deliberation.

How could you not vote for Beckham?
I'd love to see the argument against Odell Beckham Jr. He did more in 12 games than almost any rookie receiver ever has done in 16. Anyone not voting for Beckham should have their driving privileges taken away. The only question now is whether he's the No. 1 fantasy wide receiver off the board next year.
