Jaguars owner Shad Khan: We owe you better results

The two-year long honeymoon for Jaguars coach Gus Bradley and general manager David Caldwell is nearing its end.

Team owner Shad Khan told reporters on Tuesday that another season of double-digit losses won't cut it in 2015.

"We owe you better results on game day," Khan said, per The Florida Times-Union. "I know that. Dave knows that. Gus knows that. I want to make it clear -- it's my responsibility and yours that we deliver a team and an organization to you that you can be proud of on game days and every other day of the year."

Khan went out of his way to back the roster-building effort that Caldwell and Bradley have put together over the past two seasons. But the team's 7-25 record since 2013 has kept the Jaguars in the basement of the AFC South, something Khan hopes to address with a league-high $62 million in cap space.

"We want to get the better players," Khan said. "We've got a great facility here, great town here, great coaching staff that we have enhanced."

Bradley has plenty of support inside the building: Jaguars players consistently rave about their coach. It also helps that the franchise has potentially unearthed a long-term answer under center in Blake Bortles. Still, few regimes survive three straight losing seasons, meaning the pressure is on in Jacksonville.
