Texans' Quessenberry says cancer is in remission

Houston Texans offensive lineman David Quessenberry provided some great news on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old who was diagnosed with lymphoma last June, said his cancer is in remission after he completed radiation treatment and he's on a 30-month maintenance program.

"It feels amazing," Quessenberry told the Houston Chronicle during an appearance on Wednesday at Texas Children's Hospital. "We're getting back to a sense of normalcy. I'm officially into remission now and into my maintenance phase."

Quessenberry was competing for a starting gig last offseason when he was diagnosed. The lineman said he's working to rejoin his team -- though there is no timetable for a possible return.

"I should be able to play ball now," Quessenberry said. "I wouldn't be where I am today without everyone's support."
