The Indianapolis Colts have added a proven veteran to their offensive line.
The team announced Sunday that it has agreed to terms with free agent Todd Herremans. The guard spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Eagles.
"It was a different experience for me going through trying to find a whole new team. Indy seems like a good fit for me and a good opportunity to start. I want to compete for a Super Bowl. I've been close before but never quite close enough," Herremans told ESPN's Josina Anderson.
"I had a good time speaking with their offensive line coach and their general manager Ryan Grigson. I know him from when he was in Philadelphia. It was good to reconnect. I have a good feeling about it. I'm really excited to get started."
Herremans is a versatile player who started games at four offensive line positions during his extended run in Philly. Last season, he started seven games at right guard and one game at right tackle before suffering a season-ending biceps injury in October.
Herremans will slide into a starting job at right guard for the Colts, adding a solid run blocker to a line that needs reinforcements.
