Representatives from 18 NFL teams -- including defensive backs coaches from nine teams -- were at Samford's pro day Monday.
Strong safety Jaquiski Tartt (6-foot-1 3/8, 218 pounds) was limited at the NFL Scouting Combine due to a hand injury, but did manage to be among the top performers in his position group in the 40-yard dash and broad jump. At Samford's pro day, Tartt ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 and 4.47 seconds. He had a 33-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-3 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.29 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.03 seconds. He performed 13 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Tartt was described as looking rusty during the pro day workout, but he did have good movement in the drills and caught the ball well. He looked better moving around during the season than in this particular workout. At the Senior Bowl, NFL Media analyst **Charles Davis** said that Tartt is "an absolute missile" and also noted that Tartt showed "SEC skills" while playing at the FCS level.
The workout was held outdoors and run on FieldTurf.
