A representative from one NFL team, the Houston Texans, was on hand for Prairie View A&M's pro day on March 25. The workout was held outdoors on grass.
Quarterback Jerry Lovelocke (6-foot-4 1/2, 247 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.81 and 4.84 seconds. He had a 31-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-5 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.62 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.47 seconds. Lovelocke has long 34 3/4-inch arms. He did not go through a positional workout, since the Texans' representative indicated that he'd known enough about Lovelocke already.
