Help with the pass rush might be the last thing the St. Louis Rams need from a first-round draft pick, but the club nevertheless hosted one of the best for a recent official visit.
And he's not the first.
The Rams hosted Kentucky's Bud Dupree on Friday, according to stltoday.com. The Rams hold the No. 10 overall pick, but have greater needs at offensive line and wide receiver. According to the report, Missouri pass rusher Shane Ray and Clemson's Vic Beasley have made trips to visit the Rams, as well.
St. Louis has one of the NFL's best pass rushers in Robert Quinn, who recorded 10.5 sacks last year. The Rams also got defensive-end-like pass-rush production last season from rookie defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who had nine sacks. Perhaps one concern for St. Louis is its other defensive end, Chris Long, who missed much of last season following ankle surgery. After averaging more than 10 sacks per season over four years from 2010 to 2013, Long appeared in six games last year and made one sack.
Among the bigger positions of need for the Rams are the offensive line, wide receiver, and cornerback. No NFL Media analyst projects Dupree to be drafted higher than No. 13 overall to the New Orleans Saints.
