Terrelle Pryor earned another shot at an NFL quarterback gig.
The Cincinnati Bengals announced Sunday they signed the signal-caller to a contract after his tryout during rookie mini-camp.
Pryor will battle backups AJ McCarron and Josh Johnson for a spot on the roster this summer.
The athletically gifted Pryor offers a playmaker behind Andy Dalton, should he make the roster. While his scatter-shot passing is an issue, his arm-talent could be an upgrade on the weaker-throwing McCarron or Johnson.
At 6-foot-4, 233 pounds, many have discussed a possible position change for Pryor, but the 25-year-old insists he'll only play quarterback.
"If I can't play quarterback, I can't play football," he said before his tryout.
Pryor was released by the Chiefs less than four months after signing with Kansas City this offseason. In three seasons with Oakland from 2011 to 2013, Pryor appeared in 15 games with 10 starts, compiling a 56.3 percent completion percentage and nine touchdowns to 12 interceptions. He also spent time last year with the Seattle Seahawks before being cut.
The Bengals also announced the signing of tight end John Peters, defensive tackle Kalafitoni Pole, defensive back Erick Dargan and receiver Mario Alford, while releasing tight end Kevin Brock.
