Injury roundup: DeSean Jackson suffers shoulder injury

But a blocking sled can hold him back a few weeks.

The Washington Redskins receiver suffered an injured right shoulder when he ran into a sled Thursday during practice. Redskins coach Jay Gruden later said that Jackson fell near a tackling sled.

Jackson suffered a Grade 2 separated shoulder and is expected to miss a few weeks, according to a source informed of the situation, per NFL Media's Rand GetlinESPN was first to report.

While he might sit out preseason games, assuming the shoulder injury doesn't linger, it shouldn't limit the speedsters' production in 2015 as the Redskins' No. 1 target.

  1. Also at the Cowboys training camp, defensive-end Kenneth Boatright had to be carted off the field and loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher, according to David Helman with DallasCowboys.com. Boatright's legs were moving when they loaded him up. He was taken to a local hospital with a suspected neck injury, according to NFL Media's Omar Ruiz.
  1. Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonsosustained a concussion, according to NJ.com's Eliot Shorr-Parks, per a source.
  1. The Falcons had another running back leave practice due to a hamstring injury. A day after rookie Tevin Coleman pulled his hamstring, Devonta Freemandid the same on Thursday.
  1. Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe was carted off by two people during practice on Thursday, according to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders missed the workout with a cramp in right hamstring.
  1. Jackson wasn't the only Redskin to leave practice Thursday. Cornerback DeAngelo Hallinjured his groin and knee and could miss a week of practice.
  1. Bill Belichick said Julian Edelman, who injured his left ankle Sunday and hasn't practiced since, is day to day. NFL Network's James Palmer reported the wide receiver is doing well.
  1. Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar has a sprained ankle and will be getting an MRI on Thursday, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Cowboys don't believe it is serious.
  1. Jets safety Antonio Allen had to be helped off the field during practice Thursday, according to ESPN. Jets coach Todd Bowles said he was initially told it's an Achilles injury.
  1. Giants linebacker Jameel McClain will be out for a while due to a stinger, coach Tom Coughlin said, according to the New York Daily News.
  1. Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria left Thursday's practice after sustaining an unknown injury, according to MLive.com's Kyle Meinke. Fauria returned to the field without his pads and wearing what appeared to be a protective sleeve on his left knee. Coach Jim Cadwell said it might take him a couple days to get back.
  1. Titans tight end Delanie Walker took a hit from defensive back Da'Norris Searcy that left him shaken up, according to Terry Mccormick of Titaninsider.com. Walker needed 12 stitches to close the cut on his hand but he still doesn't know if anything is broken. He says he's seeing a hand specialist soon.
