Mississippi State cornerback Will Redmond, a senior who is regarded as a top-50 prospect for the 2016 NFL Draft by draft analyst Chad Reuter, is credited with a clocking of 4.38 seconds in the program's timing for the 40-yard dash. The time would have tied him for the seventh-fastest clocking at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine along with FSU cornerback Ronald Darby.
MSU freshman Brandon Bryant, with a blazing 4.25 40 to lead the team, tweeted a photo of a display in the Bulldogs' football facility of the team's top testing results. The photo provides a look at Redmond's results in other events as well. Redmond recorded a team-high three interceptions last season while playing both corner and nickelback for the Bulldogs.

Redmond's other posted results from drills that are part of the combine: vertical jump (35 inches), team-best 3-cone drill (6.50), 20-yard shuttle (3.92) and a team-best 60-yard shuttle (11.00).
Now, there can often be quite a disparity between school-recorded times and official times in pre-draft testing. It's also unclear when the times were recorded, although many top college football programs, including Alabama and Auburn, test in the 40-yard dash and other combine-type drills twice a year.
Redmond is instinctive in coverage and is Mississippi State's top senior draft prospect on the defensive side of the ball, although as Reuter notes, he needs to improve his tackling. However, his athleticism will be impressive next February if he posts similar results at the 2016 combine.
