Brandon Bostick is once again searching for a new start to his career.
The Minnesota Vikings announced they cut the tight end Sunday, along with 11 other players as they whittle their roster down prior to Tuesday's deadline.
The Vikings grabbed Bostick after the Green Bay Packerscut the tight end following his infamous botched onside kick recovery attempt in the NFC Championship game -- a play for which the 26-year-old later said he received death threats.
Bostick had just one catch for four yards this preseason in Minnesota.
The Vikings also released running back Joe Banyard. Banyard, 26, appeared in 18 games for the Vikings over the past two seasons. Last year the athletic runner showed some shiftiness on 21 carries for 88 yards (4.2 average) as the Vikes suffered backfield injuries.
Cutting Banyard displays a renewed Vikings running back depth chart with Adrian Peterson back as the starter, Jerick McKinnon the backup and Matt Asiata the short-yardage hammer.
