IK Enemkpali suspended 4 games for punching Geno

Buffalo Bills linebacker IK Enemkpali has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday.

Enemkpali punched New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith during a locker room altercation on Aug. 7, breaking the signal-caller's jaw.

Rapoport reported that Enemkpali is appealing the suspension, which could be up to as many as six games, per two sources informed of the situation.

Smith is not facing suspension, Rapoport added.

Following the incident with Smith, the Jets immediately released the 24-year-old linebacker, who was claimed on waivers by the Bills. Three days after being cut by Buffalo last week, Rex Ryan's team signed Enemkpali, a former Jets sixth-round pick, to the practice squad.

Smith is expected to miss about four games, according to Gang Green coach Todd Bowles.

On Saturday, the Bills re-signed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen to the 53-man roster. Fluellen was cut Friday in order to activate IK Enemkpali.
