Jay Cutler suffers hamstring injury in Bears' loss

The Chicago Bears couldn't mount a comeback without Jay Cutler.

The quarterback went to the locker room in the second quarter after attempting a tackle during a Tony Jefferson interception return during Sunday's 48-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The team announced that Cutler suffered a hamstring injury and he sat out the remainder of the game.

After the game, Bears coach John Fox offered no specifics on Cutler's condition or whether he would be available to play next week against the Seattle Seahawks. He only confirmed Cutler had a hamstring injury.

Jefferson returned the interception 25 yards for a touchdown to give the Cardinals a 28-14 lead with 2:59 remaining in the first half. Jimmy Clausen replaced Cutler in the lineup on Chicago's next possession.

Cutler returned to the Bears' sideline before the end of the second quarter, but Clausen remained in the game.

Prior to the injury, Cutler had completed 8 of 9 passes for 89 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Cutler is not the most popular guy in Chicago, but the Bears might be one of the worst teams in the NFL with Clausen behind center.
