Maryland coach Randy Edsall didn't take well to questions about his future following a 49-28 loss to Ohio State on Saturday.
Earlier this week, a report surfaced that Edsall, 22-34 in four-plus years at the school, would likely be fired following the OSU game. The school released a statement that showed support for Edsall, but also one that didn't refute the report.
Asked about the speculation about his job following the loss, Edsall was at first diplomatic.
"I don't make those decisions," Edsall said, according to Dave Briggs of the Toledo Blade.
Then, the fireworks flew.
Edsall was then asked about why he shook is players' hands prior to the game, a thinly veiled way of asking whether he thought it would be his final game on the Maryland sideline. Edsall, the former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive backs coach, took exception:
Despite the lopsided final score, Maryland had the game tied as late as the third quarter, 21-21. From there, however, the defending national champion Buckeyes pulled away.
Maryland (2-4) is idle this week before playing host to Penn State on Oct. 24.
