Falcons anticipate WR Julio Jones playing vs. Saints

Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn remains optimistic about Julio Jones' availability Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints.

Quinn told reporters he anticipates Jones playing, despite the superstar receiver dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, per NFL Media's Tiffany Blackmon.

"He did the walk through last night and did that today," Quinn said. "From what we saw, he's doing good and we anticipate him playing for the game."

The team announced on Wednesday that Jones is listed as probable for Thursday's game.

Jones played 73 of 80 snaps in the Falcons' Week 5 overtime win over the Washington Redskins, garnering five catches for 67 yards on 10 targets. There were questions entering the contest about whether Atlanta would limit the wideout's playing time. Jones has been held under 70 yards receiving each of the past two weeks while dealing with the injury, after starting the season with three straight games of 135-plus yards.

"My leg is going to have to be off or something for me not to play," Jones told Blackmon.

The Pro Bowl receiver has been a matchup nightmare this season for opponents, with a league-high 43 receptions, 545 yards receiving and four touchdown grabs.

Facing a Saints defense that has been beat up this season, Jones could be in for another big night, if he plays unrestricted by the hamstring injury. Leonard Hankerson and Roddy White will pick up the slack if Jones is hindered.
