Which college games will NFL clubs send scouts to this weekend? College Football 24/7 brings you a glimpse at the teams that are credentialed to attend some of the weekend's biggest games.
Penn State at Ohio State
Three top players: Penn State (QB Christian Hackenberg, DL Anthony Zettel, DL Carl Nassib); Ohio State (DE Joey Bosa, RB Ezekiel Elliott, LB Darron Lee).
Matchup to watch: Hackenberg's offensive line will face its stiffest challenge of the year in pass protection against Bosa, Adolphus Washington and others. PSU's chance of staying close will rest heavily not only on Hackenberg getting adequate time, but on Hackenberg getting rid of the ball on time, as well.
USC at Notre Dame
Three top players: USC (JuJu Smith-Schuster, LB Su'a Cravens, CB Adoree' Jackson); Notre Dame (WR Will Fuller, LB Jaylon Smith, OL Ronnie Stanley).
Matchup to watch: Jackson should draw plenty of game reps against Fuller, who is Notre Dame's best deep threat as a receiver. Not many corners in the country are capable of locking down Fuller, but Jackson is among them.
UCLA at Stanford
Three top players: UCLA (RB Paul Perkins, CB Ishmael Adams, DL Kenny Clark); Stanford (OL Joshua Garnett, OL Kyle Murphy, TE Austin Hooper).
Matchup to watch: Stanford has a couple of stout offensive linemen that project as NFL draft picks, and UCLA's Clark has a pro future of his own. This heavily scouted game will draw a lot of focus to play at the line of scrimmage, and that's where the game will likely be won or lost, as well.
Louisville at FSU
Clubs attending:Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings.
Three top players: Louisville (DE Devonte Fields, LB James Burgess, LB Keith Kelsey); FSU (RB Dalvin Cook, DB Jalen Ramsey, OL Roderick Johnson).
Matchup to watch: The Cardinals have one of the best linebacking corps in the ACC, and that group will be charged with slowing down the explosive Cook. Once FSU's star sophomore gets loose in the secondary, he often can't be caught.
West Virginia at Baylor
Clubs attending:Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers.
Three top players: West Virginia (WR Shelton Gibson, DB KJ Dillon, DB Daryl Worley); Baylor (DE Shawn Oakman, CB Xavien Howard, OL Spencer Drango).
Matchup to watch: The Mountaineers will have to light up the Baylor secondary to have a chance of keeping pace in what will surely be a high-scoring game. That will make Gibson's day against Howard and the rest of the Baylor defensive backs a key battle here.
