There was no postgame hug between Thomas Davis and Jimmy Graham following the Carolina Panthers' 27-23 victory over the Seahawks in Seattle.
Instead, the linebacker, who had predicted there would be no love lost between them, tossed some barbs Graham's way.
"I don't even know what to call him. He was out there talking trash," Davis said, via the Charlotte Observer. "He's probably one of those guys who is excited about his production and not really worried about his team losing the game."
In the ultimate team sport, calling an opponent a stat fiend is a deep-seated personality shot.
Graham, who did not talk to reporters after the loss, had his best game in Seattle, catching eight passes for 140 yards on 12 targets.
The two have a history from Graham's years with the New Orleans Saints and things got chippy during Sunday's contest.
"I don't know if he's trying to get in people's heads, but it don't work with us," Davis said of Graham's alleged trash talk. "He can keep it up and keep talking all he wants to. We won the game."
Winning is always the ultimate silencer.
