HERTFORDSHIRE, England -- Rex Ryan announced on Thursday that his quarterback Tyrod Taylor will not play against the Jaguars on Sunday in London.
"Not going to force him out there when he's not fully healed," Ryan told the media.
That's not the only bad news Ryan had, saying that star wide receiver Sammy Watkins and a handful of other key Bills are out for Week 7. Kyle Williams, Percy Harvin, Karlos Williams and Seantrel Henderson will not suit up.
Bills practice opened Thursday morning with no sign of Taylor.
Tucked away in the British countryside, Buffalo's roster kicked off the session with EJ Manuel taking the first wave of snaps after splitting reps with Taylor on Wednesday.
"I'm not really surprised," Manuel said about starting. "It's just building on what I did last week."
Taylor's absence is something of a surprise after he looked to be on the mend Wednesday from the minor MCL sprain he suffered in Week 5.
The Bills head into Sunday's tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars dealing with a swath of injuries. Watkins watched practice unfold in sweats and hoodie, having shed the walking boot he wore on the plane ride over.
Along with Watkins, Harvin is out Sunday because of what Ryan called a personal issue on Wednesday. Still stateside, Harvin is trying to figure out what's wrong with his hip and how it relates to his future, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
Around the NFL will have much more from England later today.
