Ben Roethlisberger remains in concussion protocol

There's still a chance we see Ben Roethlisberger on the field against the Colts on Sunday, but for the moment, the quarterback and coach are seeing things a little differently.

Roethlisberger is still undergoing concussion protocol and did not yet receive the results of an impact test he took on Tuesday morning, but in a radio interview, he said he felt fine and extolled the thorough nature of the league's concussion exam.

Per CBS, the quarterback said he was diagnosed with a traumatic ocular migraine. Tomlin, on the other hand, added that Roethlisberger had a concussion and is still in the team's protocol.

"I didn't feel right, it doesn't make you less of a man or a football player to come out of the game," Roethlisberger said.

He added: "I think more guys should do it," meaning admitting any warning symptoms -- a positive thing to do despite the fact that Roethlisberger, unlike many players, is indispensable and can freely admit these ailments without worrying about losing a roster spot. He said he was thinking of his family when talking to the team's trainer.

"When you're done you want to be a husband or father, and if I have these brain injuries it's not worth it," he said.

Roethlisberger missed a portion of the fourth quarter after lighting up the Seattle defense for 456 passing yards, a touchdown and two picks. Landry Jones finished the game.

Around The NFL will have more on his status for Sunday as information becomes available. At the moment, it could be as simple as awaiting the results of Roethlisberger's tests.
