Bridgewater: Vikings don't have to be Superman win

The Minnesota Vikings enter Sunday's tilt in Green Bay playing its best football of the season.

They've scored 38-plus points in their last two outings and took the Arizona Cardinals to the wire without their top three defensive players on the field.

With the Packers having won the past four NFC North titles, the men in purple are aching to knock Green Bay from the pedestal.

Teddy Bridgewater, however, says he's taking his first game of his career with big playoff implications in stride.

"You can't let the game become too big," Bridgewater said Wednesday, via the team's official website. "We know that we're playing for a lot right now but at the same point you just have to go out there and be ourselves.

"Don't have to do anything extra, don't have to put any S's on our chests, capes on our backs. We just have to do our job and do our job well."

In the past three games, Bridgewater has been at his best.

The Vikings signal-caller has thrown six touchdown passes to zero interceptions in the past three games, with the NFL's second highest passer rating (123.2) -- he had eight TD passes in the first 12 games combined.

Over those three games, Bridgewater has a passer rating of 154.4 when throwing 15-plus air yard passes (best in NFL).

While Teddy has thrived down the stretch, the Packers have wilted. Over the same three-game span, Rodgers has just four touchdowns and two picks. The former NFL MVP has a passer rating below 100.0 in nine straight games. In Green Bay's last five contests, Rodgers is completing just 58.0 percent of his passes for 209.6 yards and a 78.2 passer rating.

In the Packers' 30-13 thrashing of the Vikings in Week 11, Rodgers completed just 47.1 percent of his passes for 212 yards, underscoring that even when Green Bay has won of late, it hasn't been pretty.

Bridgewater might not need to become Superman for the Vikings to take their first division title since 2009. The most important thing is that he doesn't morph into Turnoverman.
