Davante Adams played one of his best game in a calendar year Sunday in the Green Bay Packers' victory over the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately he left early with a right knee injury that appears will keep him out of the Divisional Round.
ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that results of the test on Adams' right knee showed a possible MCL sprain and he's unlikely to play in Arizona versus the Cardinals. It's unclear how severe the sprain is at this point, per Demovsky -- MCL injuries don't usually require surgery.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday that Adams told him he felt fine after the game but the trainers felt differently. McCarthy added more will be known about the severity of the injury Wednesday.
Adams finished with four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown versus the Redskins, including a ridiculously tough catch after struggling with drops all season.
A preseason hype darling in Green Bay, Adams had a frustratingly disappointing season in what was supposed to be a breakout campaign. It follows the trend that he would miss the game after finally seeming to find some traction.
