Top draft prospect Myles Jack fully cleared by UCLA surgeon

Myles Jack's assurances at the NFL Scouting Combine that his rehabilitated knee would be ready for UCLA's pro day were well-founded. The former Bruins star linebacker flew from Phoenix, where he's training, to Los Angeles on Monday and received medical clearance by the UCLA surgeon, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

That will put plenty of eyes on UCLA's pro day on March 15, where Jack is expected to complete the drills he was unable to perform at the combine. For one of the 2016 NFL Draft's elite prospects, if not the best player in the entire draft, it will be a chance to show NFL scouts that the athleticism evident in his game film is no different post-injury.

Jack had expected the clearance, telling NFL Media's Kimberly Jones at the combine that he anticipated being fully ready for pro day.

"March 10 I get cleared by my doctor, then March 15 I plan on doing everything," Jack told Jones. "Doing the 40, showing what I can do, showcasing my skills."

Jack injured his knee during practice last September and withdrew from classes to focus on rehabilitation, asserting at the time that he intended to enter the 2016 NFL Draft as an underclassman. Though he had hoped to be ready to compete at the combine, he instead tested on the bench press only (19 reps), while also going through extensive medical examinations and interviews with clubs.
