The Move The Sticks podcast is identifying "Perfect Pairs" -- the ideal top two picks -- for each NFL team leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft, which will be held April 28-30. NFL Media analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks will unveil a new set of picks for a tandem of divisions over the next few weeks, continuing with the AFC East and NFC East today. The analysts will reveal their picks for AFC South and NFC South teams next week.
Dolphins
Brooks' perfect draft pair: Clemson DE Kevin Dodd (Round 1, pick 13); Arkansas RB Alex Collins (Round 2, pick 42)
Brooks' take: You can call Dodd a one-year wonder, but he really dominated at the end of the season. He has outstanding athleticism and nice size. He'll need some time to develop, but who better to learn from than Mario Williams and Cameron Wake? Dodd can be a third defensive end at the outset and eventually give you the production that you want. As for Collins, he was very productive in the SEC (exceeded the 1,000-yard mark three times). He does a great job running inside and can get to the edges, too. He has a knack for finding that crease. You want a guy who can command an eight-man box in this offense. Collins is certainly good enough to do it.
Bills
Jeremiah's perfect draft pair: Mississippi State DT Chris Jones (Round 1, pick 19); Boise State OLB Kamalei Correa (Round 2, pick 49)
Jeremiah's take: Jones just keeps moving up the more you watch him. He can get upfield and be ultra-disruptive. I think you can say of all the defensive tackles in this draft, his ceiling is right there at the top of the class. Correa is one of my favorite players in the draft. He's very disruptive. This defense has to be better under Rex Ryan, as it was very disappointing last season. They would help themselves with these two picks.
Jets
Brooks' perfect draft pair: Oklahoma State DE Emmanuel Ogbah (Round 1, pick 20); Indiana OT Jason Spriggs (Round 2, pick 51)
Brooks' take: The Jets are right on the verge of being a playoff team. They need to continue to work on their defense, and Ogbah is the missing link. Todd Bowles likes bigger, thicker edge rushers and Ogbah can be that guy. He's a straight-line power rusher. As for Spriggs, he's all over the charts. He's someone who could go anywhere from late in the first round to somewhere in the second round. The Jets would be a good spot for him. He can be an apprentice for D'Brickashaw Ferguson and eventually take over. They need to find a guy who can be their left tackle for the next 10 years. Spriggs could be that guy.
Patriots
Jeremiah's perfect draft pair: Ohio State LB Joshua Perry (Round 2, pick 60); Utah RB Devontae Booker (Round 2, pick 61)
Jeremiah's take: This is a tricky one because the Patriots don't have a first-round pick. They do have a couple second-rounders back to back. I have them going with a linebacker at No. 60. They like those bigger linebackers. Perry can play that physical brand of football that they like in New England. But he also has the speed to be able to play sideline to sideline. He's a little bit stiff, but I don't know that it will bother the Patriots as much as some other teams. Booker is one of my favorites in this draft. He's a complete back -- he can run, catch and block.
