The Pittsburgh Steelers released cornerback Cortez Allen, the team announced Friday.
Allen, who was selected by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft, signed a four-year, $24.6 million extension with the club in 2014, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
In five seasons, the cornerback appeared in 56 games (18 starts) and amassed 150 tackles, 34 passes defensed and six interceptions.

- Greg Zuerlein will be staying with the Rams in 2016. The Rams have agreed to terms on a deal with the free-agent kicker, the team announced. It's a one-year deal, a source told Rapoport. Zuerlein appeared in 14 games with the Rams last season, hitting 20 of 30 field-goal attempts and 26 of 28 extra-point attempts.
- The Cardinals announced Friday they have released running backs Marion Grice and Robert Hughes. Both Grice and Hughes served as players on the practice squad last season and re-signed with the Cardinals on January 26.
- The Bills released offensive tackle Tyson Chandler with a non-football injury, the team announced. Chandler, who has yet to appear in an NFL game, signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent last May.
- The Patriots released defensive linemen Chris Jones and Ishmaa'ily Kitchen, the team announced. Jones played 28 games for the Patriots (23 starts), totaling 83 tackles and nine sacks in his first two seasons with New England. He spent the entire 2015 season on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. Kitchen was signed with the Patriots as a free agent last December and played in the 2015 regular-season finale.
