If Paxton Lynch was hoping for a respite from his travel schedule with the NFL draft barely more than a week away, he'll have to catch his breath some other way. The former Memphis quarterback will go from Chicago to Baltimore for his next pre-draft visit to meet with Ravens officials, according to his agent, Leigh Steinberg.
The Ravens hold the No. 6 overall pick of the draft, although most NFL Media mock drafts project Lynch to be chosen later in the first round, to the Jets at No. 20 or the Arizona Cardinals at No. 29. As such, it's difficult to imagine Baltimore taking Lynch without trading back, or perhaps trading up with its second-round choice (No. 36 overall). With former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco under center, the Ravens' interest in Lynch figures to be more about value than need.
NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock compared Lynch to Flacco last November, while an NFL executive sees another AFC North quarterback in Lynch: Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger.
For Lynch, it's just one more stop on what has been a busy stretch since his April 6 pro day workout. He visited the Chicago Bears on Tuesday and completes his visit schedule in Baltimore. Prior to that, he embarked upon a whirlwind tour of visits that sent him to seven NFL cities in nine days. He also visited the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs before his pro day.
