Chicago Bears sign first-round pick Leonard Floyd

The Chicago Bears and their first-round pick are in business.

The team announced Friday that it has agreed to terms with linebacker Leonard Floyd on a four-year contract with a fifth-year option. These are the standard contract parameters for a first-round pick.

The Bears selected Floyd with the ninth-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. General manager Ryan Pace hopes the Bears have landed a speedy edge rusher with double-digit sack potential. Floyd recorded 184 tackles, 28.5 tackles-for-loss and 17 sacks in three seasons at the University of Georgia.

With Floyd under contract, third-round pick Jonathan Bullard is the only member of the Bears' 2016 draft class yet to sign a deal.
