Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger missed part of the second quarter of Sunday's 30-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins after suffering a left knee injury.
Roethlisberger returned to the game in the second half and played the rest of the way, but told reporters after the game he would get an MRI on his knee Sunday night, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala. He told reporters that he "felt something funny' in his knee.
Roethlisberger was caught from behind on a second quarter interception by Dolphins defensive end Jordan Phillips, who nicked the quarterback's foot during a rollout. Roethlisberger sat uncomfortably on the ground for a few moments before limping off the field. He was officially listed as questionable to return.
The 34-year-old is obviously the driving force behind a powerful Pittsburgh offense and has been playing better than just about any quarterback in football over the last month. So far in the month of October, he's had 680 yards passing, nine touchdowns and just one interception, with a completion percentage above 70.
Pittsburgh had just one backup quarterback active against Miami -- former fourth-round pick Landry Jones. Zach Mettenberger is also on the roster.
