LeSean McCoy active for Buffalo Bills versus Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills will have their starting running back on the field Sunday versus the Miami Dolphins.

LeSean McCoy is active for game after being considered a game-time decision due to a hamstring injury. The Bills were optimistic heading into Sunday that he would play.

McCoy was listed as questionable after leaving practice early on Wednesday with hamstring tightness. Shady missed practice Thursday and was limited Friday.

Expect McCoy's snaps to be limited in Miami. Shady has played 75.8 percent of Bills snaps through six games, an average of 47.5 per contest -- that number could be cut in half.

McCoy sits second in the NFL in rushing yards with 587. He also ranks second with six rushing TDs and 5.6 yards per carry. Shady sparked the Bills' four-game win streak with shifty runs into the second level.

It's a big step down to backup Mike Gillislee, but expect the backup to see the field more Sunday as the Bills likely take a cautious approach with McCoy.
