The Cincinnati Bengals are dancing dangerously close to elimination, but at least one man refuses to believe it's over.
In the grim aftermath of a 19-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, coach Marvin Lewis emphasized to his players that the playoffs remain -- at least mathematically -- in reach.
"As I told our guys, 'Now we need help,'" Lewis said Sunday, per The Cincinnati Enquirer. "We've been able to control (our postseason destiny) ourselves. Now, we need some help. But it's not done."
From another angle, the Bengals currently rank as the 13th seed in the AFC, putting them in a much better position for a top-10 draft pick than a sixth-straight playoff appearance.
The "help" Lewis speaks of will more likely come through free agency and the draft than wins and losses down the stretch of a lost campaign.
