Merry Christmas, Seahawks fans! Earl Thomas isn't retiring after all.
After weeks of wavering between a return from his season-ending injury and retirement, the safety tweeted Saturday night, "I'll def be back next year..."
Confusion surrounding Thomas' immediate future in football stemmed from another tweet, one he sent out immediately after his injury, which read, "A lot is running through my mind including retirement thanks for all the prayers." This week on The Rich Eisen Show, Thomas was still non-commital, adding, "I'm kind of caught in between right now."
While we're not sure what triggered his pre-Noel decision -- maybe it was Seattle's last-second loss at home to Arizona on Saturday -- we're sure glad that Thomas will be back patrolling the middle of the field next season.
