When it comes to the AFC playoff picture, the Broncos are out, which means plenty of the team's future prospects could be in come Week 17.
Coach Gary Kubiak told reporters Monday that rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch might be among the players who see significant time against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
Acknowledging that he'd like to play "everybody" in the regular season finale, Kubiak said he planned to make a decision on Lynch, the team's first-round pick, later in the week. per NFL Network's James Palmer.
The Broncos were bounced from playoff contention with Sunday's 33-10 loss to the high-flying Chiefs in Kansas City, a game that saw starting passer Trevor Siemian complete just 17 of 43 throws for 183 yards with a pick.
"That was obviously not one of his best outings," Kubiak said of Siemian, per The Denver Post. "It was a great experience for him. That's as tough a place to play."
Siemian has done enough this season to garner genuine consideration for next year's starting gig. Still, it makes sense to get one more look at Lynch, the raw-but-enticing rookie who sports a 1-1 record after two up-and-down starts.
