Cam Newton made fashion headlines last weekend for his Coachella attire. The Panthers quarterback hit the desert in a floral romper. It really wasn't outlandish garb for Cam -- just picture Andrew Luck in that outfit -- but the social media fashion police still had a field day.
Newton explained his reasoning for his unique, concert-going getup in an interview with the Panthers' official website.
"At the end of the day, I'm at the position where it's not the first time and it won't be the last time," Newton said. "When you're able to have sauce, when you're dripping goo. And for you to not understand that, then you're already out the loop. Everybody can't do it and that's what I pride myself on being able to do. I was comfortable, I was able to have fun and I enjoyed myself."
Well said, Cam. Now excuse me while I make my way to Costco to splurge on ragu.
