Derek Carr just signed the richest contract extension in NFL history at $125 million over five years.
After working as one of the biggest bargains in the NFL the last few seasons, what does the Oakland Raiders' quarterback plan on splurging on after his huge payday?
"Chick-fil-A," he replied. "Probably Chick-fil-A. I've been eating clean ... I'll probably get some Chick-fil-A."
Sounds like someone is angling for a new sponsorship, @ChickfilA.
$125 million could get Carr a couple buckets of waffle fries.
If you're getting Chick-fil-A, Spicy Chicken Sandwich is the No. 1 order. At about $6.19 for a combo, Carr could buy 20,193,861 Spicy Chicken Combos for $125 million (someone check my math, please). Or, shoot, maybe he just opens his own franchise.
For any missing the joke, and legitimately fearing Carr might blow his money on chicken sandwiches, fret not.
"But, no, first thing I'll do is I'll pay my tithe like I have since I was in college," he said of his actual plans. "Give it $700 on a scholarship check. That won't change. I'll do that. I'll probably give my wife something nice, even though she begs me not to."
Carr added his new contract money can "help a lot of people around the world," noting a recent visit to Haiti.
Maybe Carr can buy Chick-fil-A for all of Haiti?
