Back in 2014, the Oakland Raiders signed tackle Austin Howard to a five-year deal worth $30 million in hopes that he could anchor their high-powered offensive line from the right side.
Three years, a handful of injuries and a few personnel shufflings up front later, Howard is back on the market. He confirmed his release via an Instagram post Friday.
Howard, who had shoulder surgery in January, can still be a solid sixth man for a team looking to bolster its offensive line when he's healthy. While last year was considered a down season for Howard, NBC Bay Area reported the shoulder injury and an additional ankle issue plagued him throughout the season.
