Days into training camp, Saints wide receiver Willie Snead can't help but feel bad for the team's gaggle of defensive backs.
"I know they're going to be tested, because we're coming at them every day," Snead told The Times-Picayune, before making it clear what he thinks of his fellow wideouts.
"I feel like we have the best receiving corps in the league, so we're just going to make [our cornerbacks] better. And by the time game-time comes, they should be ready to go."
It's not a crazy boast when it comes to the team's collection of pass-catchers. Last year's trio of Snead, Michael Thomas and Brandin Cooks were nothing short of sensational, but Cooks is long gone after being traded to the Patriots.
This time around, the Saints have added deep-threat Ted Ginn to a crew that also includes Brandon Coleman, a player coach Sean Payton says has "stood out" in camp.
Neither is Snead, who doubled down to say: "With Drew Brees at the quarterback role, I think we're the best."
