The Jacksonville Jaguars began the second week of voluntary organized team activity without quarterback Nick Foles.
Head coach Doug Marrone, however, told reporters Tuesday morning that Foles is absent for personal reasons.
"Nick's been communicating; it's a personal situation," Marrone said, via the Jaguars' official website. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick and his family. He knows, like anything else, that we're here for him."
Marrone didn't provide details surrounding the signal-caller's absence or a timeline on a return. But NFL Network's Mike Garofolo reported Foles could be back at the end of the week before adding the absence is considered open-ended at this time.
The Jaguars currently have backup quarterbacks Tanner Lee, Alex McGough and Gardner Minshew to rotate in Foles' absence. The Jaguars close out OTAs next week before holding a mandatory three-day minicamp June 11-13.
Foles joined the Jaguars on a four-year, $91 million contract in March and is viewed as the clear starter.
