Landry: Mayfield-Duke Johnson drama a 'non-issue'

The Baker Mayfield-Duke Johnson drama that bubbled up in Cleveland could be washed away by the time Browns training camp begins in late July.

On Thursday, NFL Network's Michael Silver reported several veteran Browns players approached Mayfield in the locker room after the QB's critical comments about Johnson to register their displeasure and hash out their differences.

Speaking at his youth football camp on Friday, Cleveland receiver Jarvis Landry called the situation a "non-issue," per multiple reporters on the scene. Landry also noted that he doesn't expect Mayfield and Johnson to have any problem working together.

The kerfuffle started during Browns minicamp last week when Johnson reiterated his desire to be traded. Mayfield suggesting Johnson's situation was "self-inflicted" and said, "you're either on this train or you're not, it's moving."

According to Silver, several teammates took exception that Mayfield would break the unwritten locker room rule that you don't interject in another man's business situation.

The Browns are off until the end of July when they return for training camp. If Landry, a team leader alongside Mayfield, is correct, the Mayfield-Johnson dynamic won't be an issue by then.
