With just under four weeks until training camp, wide receiver Josh Gordon's future remains unknown -- both inside and outside the Patriots locker room.
Gordon and quarterback Tom Brady worked out together last week, according to Brady's Instagram. But the wideout remains indefinitely suspended for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy in December.
Count Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman as one of those who doesn't know if -- or when -- Gordon will rejoin the team.
"It's a life situation and you're pulling for him ... to get better," Edelman said Wednesday, via Barstool Sports. "And selfishly, I want him because he's a really good football player and he can help us.
"I don't know anything (about whether Gordon will be reinstated) going into it. Like, legit. I've asked 30 people inside the organization and outside, 'Do you know what's going to happen?' And no one knows not one thing. So, we're just kind of sitting and waiting to see what the circumstances are going to be with him because he'd be a really good tool to have. He balls."
Gordon was expected to apply for reinstatement in May, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, but there hasn't been any update on his status. Gordon didn't attend the Patriots' Super Bowl ring ceremony earlier in June and hasn't made any public comments, but remains active on social media.
