Julio Jones isn't fretting his contract situation this summer.
Last offseason, the Atlanta Falcons receiver sat out before getting his contract adjusted. Jones told TMZ he doesn't plan a similar boycott because he trusts owner Arthur Blank's promise to get a new deal done.
"Mr. Blank gave us his word," Jones said. "That's golden. ... [Blank's] word is that it's going to get done. ... There's no stress on my end. I'm not thinking about it.
"[Blank] makes it easy for me to go out and just work every day and not have one of those situations where there's a holdout or anything like that."
Jones has two years left on his contract worth $9.6 million and $11.426 million, respectively. Currently sitting 12th among receivers in average salary per season, expect the Falcons to boost Jones' salary significantly with a new deal.
Between the owner's promises and Jones' confidence, the hope is a new deal materializes in the coming weeks, so the Falcons can fly through training camp and into the regular season without the inevitable, looming question circling above.
