Mike Mayock's first draft class in Oakland is officially under contract.
The Raiders inked first-round running back Josh Jacobs to his four-year rookie deal late Tuesday night. Oakland selected Jacobs with the 24th overall pick, the second of three first-round selections (No. 4 pick Clelin Ferrell, No. 27 pick Johnathan Abram).
Jacobs' signing comes after a report this weekend from The Athletic indicated that the rookie might not report to training camp if he wasn't signed by the start of camp. Raiders rookies report on July 23 while Oakland's veterans follow on July 26.
With Jacobs under contract, expect the Alabama product to be suited in silver and black in two weeks time.
The rookie figures to be Oakland's bell cow of the future, if not the fall, taking the bulk of carries ahead of Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington, Doug Martin and Chris Warren.
