Reporting to camp earlier than any team is proving positive for the Denver Broncos.
On Wednesday, the Broncos shared good injury news on starting running back Phillip Lindsay and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.
Lindsay, who underwent wrist surgery in December and missed the last game of the season, is "ready to go" for camp, according to head coach Vic Fangio.
As for Sanders, on Tuesday he voiced his intentions to be back for Week 1 even if he wasn't a "full-go" at camp right away. General manager John Elway announced Wednesday that he would not start camp on the physically unable to perform list (PUP), per NFL Network's James Palmer.
Elway added that Sanders would be worked back slowly from the torn Achilles he suffered on Dec. 5, but that he "looks good" right now.
The fact that both are avoiding the PUP is a good sign. Players on the PUP can participate in team meetings and use training and medical facilities, but are unable to practice with the team. Now, Lindsay and Sanders can get work in at practice, even if it comes at their own pace. Fangio said they will be eased into practice, but it will happen rather quickly.
Denver is the first team to begin training camp, with its opening practice taking place Thursday. The Broncos play the Atlanta Falcons in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 1 in Canton, Ohio.
