Lions will reduce prices for some season tickets

Hoping to avoid 0-16 infamy

A loss would install the Lions in their very own NFL Hall of Shame as the league's first team to go 0-16 in a season. They're already the first to go 0-15. ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions will reduce or freeze prices for season tickets next season.

The team announced plans Friday to make eight percent of their 55,000 general-seating, season-ticket packages cheaper next season and to not raise prices for the rest.

Details on the reductions will be determined before invoices are sent in February.

The winless Lions will close the season Sunday at Green Bay, hoping to avoid being the NFL's first 0-16 team.

Detroit was 0-8 at Ford Field this year, losing by an average 22 points to break a league record.
