The Chicago Bears had to wait until the third round of the draft to make their first selection, but the team wasted little time in getting deals done with the majority of their picks.
The Bears announced on Friday that they have signed or agreed to terms on four-year deals with seven of their nine draft picks. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
The highest selection to agree to terms was defensive end Henry Melton, a fourth-round pick taken 105th overall. The other selections to sign or agree to deals were cornerback D.J. Moore (119th overall), receiver Johnny Knox (140th), linebacker Marcus Freeman (154th), safety Al Afalava (190th), tight end Lance Louis (246th) and receiver Derek Kinder (251st).
The seven draftees to agree to terms are the most by one team this season.
The Bears' two third-round picks -- defensive tackle Jarron Gilbert (68th overall) and receiver Juaquin Iglesias (99th) -- remain unsigned.
