Jaguars ship underperforming DE Groves to Raiders for draft pick

The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to trade defensive end Quentin Groves to the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, pending a physical, for a fifth-round pick (158th overall) in this week's NFL draft.

Groves discussed the deal on Twitter, writing: "Duval County....I LOVE U GUYS...thanks for all your support...New Starts(equals)New Beginnings...OAKLAND HERE I COME!!!!" The Jaguars confirmed the trade a short time later.

Groves, a second-round pick in 2008, hasn't made an impact in his two NFL seasons. The former Auburn star had just 2.5 sacks in 32 games as the Jaguars struggled to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Groves was demoted from starter to third-teamer.
