Predictions for top 10 college games of Week 10
Three of the top four teams in the first College Football Playoff rankings face big games this weekend, with Florida State possibly facing its toughest remaining test this season.
Out West, Oregon faces a recent nemesis, Stanford, and the Arizona schools will continue to try to set up a Territorial Cup showdown that would decide the Pac-12 South winner.
CFB 24/7 experts Gil Brandt, Bucky Brooks, Daniel Jeremiah, Bryan Fischer, Chase Goodbread and Mike Huguenin have provided their predictions for each game.
Season records entering Week 10:
Huguenin: 65-25
Brooks: 63-27
Goodbread: 63-27
Brandt: 62-28
Fischer: 62-28
Jeremiah: 62-28

Details: Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3
The skinny: This has the potential to produce a bunch of points. UNC QB Marquise Williams (above) has thrown 17 TD passes and also is a dangerous runner. UNC has no standout wide receiver, but it is a dangerous receiving group overall. UNC must run effectively to pull the upset, but the Heels have struggled to be consistent on the ground. Hurricanes LB Denzel Perryman is a big hitter who excels against the run. Miami TB Duke Johnson (above) should run wild against UNC's weak defense. The Heels' secondary has been a sieve, so true freshman QB Brad Kaaya should be able to hit some big plays. WR Phillip Dorsett and TE Clive Walford should especially worry the Tar Heels.
Game picks:
Brandt: Miami (Fla.), 41-34
Brooks: North Carolina, 31-28
Jeremiah: Miami (Fla.), 24-21
Fischer: Miami (Fla.), 45-38
Goodbread: Miami (Fla.), 35-30
Huguenin: Miami (Fla.), 41-31

Details: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS
The skinny: Georgia star running back Todd Gurley is not expected to be back in the lineup, as the NCAA ruled he must sit two more games. However, the Bulldogs' offense has been fine without him, largely thanks to talented freshman rusher Nick Chubb. Georgia WR Chris Conley (above) has stepped up his production, as well, and will likely draw plenty of action against UF star CB Vernon Hargreaves (above). Hargreaves has shut down every receiver he's faced this season except Alabama's Amari Cooper.
Game picks:
Brandt: Georgia, 37-20
Brooks: Georgia, 34-28
Jeremiah: Georgia, 34-21
Fischer: Georgia, 33-17
Goodbread: Georgia, 21-10
Huguenin: Georgia, 27-10

Details: Saturday, 8 p.m. ET, ABC
The skinny: Kansas State hopes to keep its perfect record in Big 12 play intact with a home game against a tricky Oklahoma State team. Although the Cowboys' offense is sputtering as of late, they love to take shots down field and have one of the most electric players in the sport in all-purpose star Tyreek Hill (above). The Wildcats have plenty of talent on their own, led by star receiver and return man Tyler Lockett (above).
Game picks:
Brandt: Kansas State, 34-14
Brooks: Kansas State, 35-34
Jeremiah: Kansas State, 21-17
Fischer: Kansas State, 31-17
Goodbread: Kansas State, 24-17
Huguenin: Kansas State, 35-20

Details: Saturday, 7:15 p.m. ET, ESPN2
The skinny: The Bulldogs' magical season looks to continue against the SEC West's worst team, but don't underestimate the Razorbacks' ability to keep this one close. Arkansas' power running game -- led by Jonathan Williams (above) and Alex Collins -- is perfectly capable of piling up enough yardage on Mississippi State's defense to stay in the game. MSU QB Dak Prescott (above) could have a big day against Arkansas' defense, however, and a big day wouldn't hurt his Heisman Trophy chances, either. Arkansas linebacker Martrell Speight is one of the SEC's most underrated players, and he'll be tasked with plugging the rushing lanes that Prescott has found so inviting this season.
Game picks:
Brandt: Mississippi State, 37-27
Brooks: Mississippi State, 35-31
Jeremiah: Mississippi State, 31-20
Fischer: Mississippi State, 34-27
Goodbread: Mississippi State, 31-24
Huguenin: Mississippi State, 31-21

Details: Saturday, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
The skinny: At the beginning of the season, one would have expected these two teams to be in opposite places, with UCLA contending for the South while Arizona tries to stay afloat in the race. It's the Wildcats, let by quarterback Anu Solomon (above), who are looking to remain in the national conversation, however, and hoping for a better outing at the Rose Bowl than past trips. Brett Hundley (above) and company let a big lead slip away last week on the road and will be looking to prevent that on Saturday while still picking up a win. The last time Arizona visited the Rose Bowl, it came away with a 66-10 win over UCLA, the most-lopsided loss in series history.
Game picks:
Brandt: Arizona, 34-33
Brooks: Arizona, 37-34
Jeremiah: Arizona, 31-28
Fischer: Arizona, 31-24
Goodbread: UCLA, 42-31
Huguenin: UCLA, 38-35

Details: Saturday, 11 p.m. ET, FOX Sports 1
The skinny: Only diehard Utes and Sun Devils fans thought these two teams would be playing for the Pac-12 South title at this point in the season, but that's where we are entering a game that should go final just as the rest of the country is ending Daylight Saving Time. Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly (above) looked a little shaky during his first start back from injury, and things won't get any easier against a tough defense. Utah QB Travis Wilson (above), hopes to build off a game-winning drive from the week before.
Game picks:
Brandt: Arizona State, 31-30
Brooks: Arizona State, 24-20
Jeremiah: Arizona State, 24-23
Fischer: Arizona State, 31-25
Goodbread: Arizona State, 23-20
Huguenin: Arizona State, 27-20

Details: Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET, FOX
The skinny: Any time the Ducks and Cardinal have gotten together, it's very often been the game of the year in the Pac-12. That's not the case in 2014, but this is still an excellent matchup between one of the country's top offenses against one of the best defenses. Marcus Mariota (above) is the front-runner for the Heisman Trophy but will be looking to exorcise some demons against Henry Anderson (above) and company. While Oregon has won nine of the last 12 in the series, Stanford has taken two in a row against the Ducks.
Game picks:
Brandt: Oregon, 31-17
Brooks: Oregon, 41-34
Jeremiah: Oregon, 28-27
Fischer: Oregon, 32-20
Goodbread: Oregon, 38-20
Huguenin: Oregon, 27-21

Details: Winston overcomes early struggles to lead FSU to win
The skinny: Another week, another distraction for FSU; this week it's Karlos Williams, who is being investigated by Tallahassee police for two incidents. On the field, FSU needs to worry about Louisville's stout defense. Seminoles QB Jameis Winston and WR Rashad Greene (above) make up one of the best pass-catch duos in the nation. Cardinals WR Devante Parker (above) is a big-timer, too.
Game picks:
Brandt: Florida State, 27-23
Brooks: Florida State, 31-30
Jeremiah: Florida State, 38-31
Fischer: Florida State, 30-28
Goodbread: Florida State, 27-21
Huguenin: Florida State, 24-17

Details: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
The skinny: The two new programs around the Big 12 might wind up winning the league this year, and this game will go a long way toward seeing which of the two it will be. Trevone Boykin (above) might be the most improved player in the country and is fresh off a historic performance against Texas Tech last week. That means another tough task for the Mountaineers' defense, but luckily the team has Kevin White (above) and the offense can help match every point.
Game picks:
Brandt: TCU, 37-30
Brooks: TCU, 33-30
Jeremiah: West Virginia, 45-35
Fischer: TCU, 45-33
Goodbread: West Virginia, 48-45
Huguenin: TCU, 45-41

Details: Saturday, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
The skinny: The marquee game in the SEC this week will drop one of these two teams out of legitimate contention for the College Football Playoff. Each has a loss and no room for another. Both run hurry-up, no-huddle offenses, although Auburn has been more true to that style this season than has Ole Miss. Ole Miss CB Senquez Golson (above) leads the nation with eight interceptions, but at 5-9, he will have his hands full with Auburn's Sammie Coates (above), who is 6-2, 200 pounds but plays like he's 6-4 and 220. On the other side of the ball, Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell will work against one of the SEC's top cover men in Jonathan Jones (five interceptions, six pass breakups).
Game picks:
Brandt: Ole Miss, 24-21
Brooks: Auburn, 31-28
Jeremiah: Auburn, 28-24
Fischer: Ole Miss, 27-24
Goodbread: Auburn, 27-26
Huguenin: Auburn, 27-24
