15 for '15: College football's best celebrity fans
CFB 24/7's "15 for '15" series continues with a look at celebrity fans. If you follow college football even a little bit, you know that Snoop Dogg's son is a wide receiver at UCLA; that NBA star LeBron James is a big Ohio State fan; that actors Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Burt Reynolds played football at Miami (Fla.) and Florida State, respectively; that Ashton Kutcher is a big Iowa fan; that singer Kenny Chesney wears his love for Tennessee football on his sleeve. Well, our list goes beyond the "obvious" fans (with one exception).

The skinny: Ludacris (real name Chris Bridges) is a Georgia State alum. He has appeared in videos for the school, including one in which he wore a Georgia State football jersey. In addition, he starred in a video in 2013 touting the school's first season as a FBS member.

The skinny: Galifianakis attended NCSU but left school before earning a degree. His dad was a walk-on football player at NCSU. He probably is best known for his role in "The Hangover," and in that one, one of his most memorable lines is, "I'm a wolf pack of one."

The skinny: Smith grew up in Holly Springs, Miss., and attended Ole Miss, though he left a few credits shy of graduation. He has talked about growing up with an Archie Manning poster in his childhood bedroom and about attending Rebels sporting events with his family while growing up. Smith frequently attends football games; he also tries to get to Oxford for basketball and baseball games when he can.

The skinny: Baumgartner and Kinsey are best-known for their work on "The Office." Baumgartner is a SMU alum; Kinsey is a Baylor alum. Baumgartner was the grand marshal of SMU's homecoming parade last fall. He is an especially big basketball fan, and SMU students have taken to holding up giant cutouts of Baumgartner during games at Moody Coliseum. Kinsey has talked of going to road football games while a student at Baylor in the 1990s, and she told the school's alumni magazine in 2007 that "I do get real excited to meet people who have gone to Baylor."

The skinny: Parker and Stone are the developers of "South Park," and they also wrote the Tony-winning musical "The Book of Mormon." Both attended Colorado, as did "South Park" animator Eric Stough. Parker and Stone also are big Denver Broncos fans, and they are quick to point out that "South Park" debuted in 1998 -- the same year the Broncos won their first Super Bowl.

The skinny: Meyers was born in Evanston, Ill., and though he grew up in New Hampshire, he returned to Evanston to attend Northwestern. He was a senior in 1995, the season in which the Wildcats first made it to the Rose Bowl. He and fellow alum Stephen Colbert have filmed an ad touting the school -- an ad that also features coach Pat Fitzgerald.

The skinny: Hart attended New York University, but she is an ardent Tide fan. Her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, is an Alabama native and "converted" Hart into a Tide backer. Hart follows numerous college football writers on Twitter, and on football Saturdays, she usually has a few tweets about the Tide.

The skinny: Aldean grew up in Macon, Ga.; Bryan grew up in Leesburg, Ga., and attended Georgia Southern. Both are big Bulldogs fans. Aldean has a bulldog named "Athens," and he headlined the first-ever concert at Georgia's Sanford Stadium, in 2013. "If I'm watching a game and Georgia's playing like crap, it puts a damper on my whole day," he told ESPN.com in 2012. As for Bryan, his third album was titled, "Tailgates & Tanlines," and he has been quoted numerous times about how he loves to tailgate whenever he can. (And, yes, he seems to talk about tailgating as much as he talks about actually attending games.)

The skinny: Church is an Appalachian State alum (he has a marketing degree from the school), and his family has a suite at Kidd Brewer Stadium. His son is named Boone (Appalachian State is in Boone, N.C.). In addition, Church and his music were featured in the intro video for App State's 2013 football team.

The skinny: All four members of the Dallas-based band are Texans, and two of them attended Texas. The band recorded a special video of their song "A State of Texas" for use on the Longhorn Network. Lead guitarist Ken Bethea's (far left) dad was a high school football coach in Tyler, Texas, and Bethea is happy to discuss college football with fans after shows. There's another football connection, too: Lead singer Rhett Miller's (second from left) grandfather, Giles Miller, owned the NFL's Dallas Texans for their one season of existence (1952).

The skinny: Keen is an A&M alum (Keen attended A&M at the same time as Lyle Lovett, and the two became good friends in college in the late 1970s). Keen remains a big Aggies fan, and during Johnny Manziel's time at A&M, Keen talked about how he and "Johnny Football" lived in the same town (Kerrville, Texas). Keen usually plays an annual show in College Station on the night before a big Aggies game.

The skinny: Kimmel is an Arizona State alum, and he showed himself to be a proud Sun Devils fan when he picked them to win the national title game last season -- despite ASU not being in the game. He also showed up at the 2014 Pac-12 media days event to hang out with Arizona State players Jamil Douglas and Taylor Kelly. And even though he is an ASU fan, he poked fun at the Sun Devils' lucky win over Wisconsin in 2013. (He took a shot at Big Ten football at the same time, though.)

The skinny: Both appear on "Modern Family." Stonestreet attended Kansas State; Burrell went to Oregon (and Penn State for his Masters). Interestingly, on "Modern Family," Stonestreet plays a character who played center at Illinois. He tries to attend one or two K-State games every season, and he also is a Kansas City Chiefs fan. As for Oregon, Burrell has talked about how "I never thought we would do any better than the Independence Bowl," so he is enjoying the Ducks' recent success.

The skinny: Simmons won an Oscar for his work in "Whiplash." He was also in "Law & Order," "Oz" and "The Closer" -- as well as ads for the Farmers Insurance. Simmons grew up in a Columbus suburb -- his dad was an OSU music professor -- and briefly attended Ohio State. He told the Columbus Dispatch that some of his favorite childhood memories are attending Buckeyes games with his dad, and that he grew up wanting to be an Ohio State linebacker. He also said that OSU's final three games last season "were some of the most fun I've ever had watching sports in my life." (Simmons was one of two big Buckeyes fans to win an Oscar in 2015. The other was singer John Legend, who went to Penn but is an Ohio native. The piano in his Manhattan apartment is adorned with buckeye stickers.)

The skinny: We tried to keep "obvious" fans off this list, but you can't have a listing of top celebrity fans without Ferrell, who seemingly was on the sideline for every USC home game when Pete Carroll was coach. Ferrell, who grew up in the L.A. area and is a USC alum, also was a visitor at USC practices during the Carroll era.
