School: Northern Iowa

Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Moon also went undrafted out of the University of Washington. However, Warner -- who figures to join Moon in Canton sometime soon -- is the choice here. Warner's rise from Hy-Vee stock boy to Super Bowl MVP is well-documented. Warner directed the Rams' explosive "Greatest Show on Turf" offense to two Super Bowl appearances, including victory in Super Bowl XXXIV over the Tennessee Titans.

School: Compton Junior College

As part of the San Francisco 49ers' famed "Million Dollar Backfield" -- which also included fellow Pro Football Hall of Fame running backs Hugh McElhenny and John Henry Johnson, and quarterback Y.A. Tittle -- Perry became the first running back in NFL history to post consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons (1953-54; it's also important to note that the NFL regular season was just 12 games back then). Perry retired as the NFL's all-time leading rusher with 9,723 yards, a record that shortly would be surpassed by Jim Brown.

School: Texas

Holmes served as a backup on the Baltimore Ravens' Super Bowl XXXV-winning team in 2000. A year later, Holmes was with the Chiefs and embarking on an epic three-year run of production that delighted fantasy football players the world over and helped him set team career records for rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns. In 2001, Holmes became the first undrafted player since Joe Perry in 1954 to lead the league in rushing (1,555 yards). Holmes wasn't done. He led the league in rushing touchdowns the next two seasons. Holmes earned NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2002, and Holmes' 27 rushing touchdowns in 2003 set a record (which has been broken twice since then).

School: Tulsa

Pearson played in three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys, including the team's win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XII. Pearson was a three-time first-team All-Pro selection, and posted two 1,000-yard receiving seasons. As one of the most prolific receivers of his time, Pearson earned a spot on the NFL's 1970s all-decade team.

School: Texas Tech

Welker was a 1,000-yard receiver in his final two seasons at Texas Tech and set an NCAA record with eight punt returns for touchdowns, but was not taken in the 2004 NFL Draft. Welker was initially signed as a rookie free agent by the San Diego Chargers, who released him after the first game of the 2004 season. Welker was picked up by the Miami Dolphins, with whom he developed into a reliable receiver. After a trade to the New England Patriots in 2007, Welker flourished. He led the league in receptions three times and has been a five-time Pro Bowl selection.

School: Kent State

Gates helped start the hardwood-to-gridiron phenomenon for tight ends in the NFL. Gates was an honorable mention All-American in basketball at Kent State. Despite not playing a down for the Golden Flashes' football team, the San Diego Chargers signed Gates. In his rookie season of 2003, Gates quickly rose up the depth chart to eventually become the starter and has been one of the NFL's top tight ends ever since. Gates has posted two 1,000-yard receiving seasons and earned eight Pro Bowl selections.

School: Arkansas

Peters originally went to Arkansas as a defensive lineman, but moved to tight end. His abilities as a blocker at tight end helped prompt a move to the offensive line when he hit the next level. However, Peters went undrafted in the 2004 NFL Draft (the same draft in which Wes Welker went undrafted). Peters was picked up by the Buffalo Bills. He was released and then signed to the practice squad. He eventually made the active roster late in the 2004 season. Three seasons later, Peters became a regular in the Pro Bowl. Peters has earned seven Pro Bowl nods during his time with the Bills and Philadelphia Eagles.

School: Bethune-Cookman

Little went undrafted in the 1967 NFL Draft (the first modern draft), signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers and then was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 1969. With the Dolphins, Little helped pave the way for the team's punishing run game that featured Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Csonka, Jim Kiick and Mercury Morris. Little -- a five-time Pro Bowl pick -- was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.

School: South Dakota State

Langer was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent in 1970, but was cut during training camp. The Dolphins picked him up, and he became the starting center in time for the Miami Dolphins' undefeated 1972 season. Langer was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and played in three Super Bowls -- winning two -- with the Dolphins. Langer and the aforementioned Little were vital to the Dolphins' punishing ground game. Also, like Little, Langer was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

School: North Texas

Waters played three seasons at tight end and then one season at defensive end for North Texas. He went undrafted in 1999 and was signed by the Dallas Cowboys, who then released him in training camp. After the Kansas City Chiefs picked him up, they sent Waters to NFL Europe to play for the Berlin Thunder. He was moved to the offensive line, and returned to Kansas City. He became a five-time Pro Bowler in 11 seasons with the Chiefs. In 2011, Waters joined the New England Patriots, earned another Pro Bowl nod and played in Super Bowl XLVI.

School: Louisville

Jacoby was one of the stalwarts of the Washington Redskins' famed "Hogs". Jacoby was a member of four Redskins teams that went to the Super Bowl, collecting three championship rings in the process. Jacoby was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the NFL's 1980s all-decade team.

School: Texas A&M-Kingsville

After going overlooked coming out of college, Randle went on to a highly productive NFL career. Randle registered double-digit sack totals in nine seasons, recording eight of those as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, including a league-high 15.5 sacks in 1997. Randle was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

School: Ohio State

Willis earned a spot on the newly formed Cleveland Browns of the AAFC after a tryout. Willis played on both the offensive and defensive lines for Cleveland, was an All-Pro selection in each of his eight seasons with the team, and was a 1977 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Browns were a dominant force during Willis' playing days and the team played for the league championship in each year Willis was on the team, winning five times (four in the AAFC and one in the NFL).

School: Penn State

Wake's post-Penn State playing career took him to the Canadian Football League's BC Lions, where he became one the league's top sack artists. That drew the attention of NFL teams, more specifically the Miami Dolphins. Wake joined the Dolphins in 2009 and went on to earn four Pro Bowl selections and register three double-digit sack seasons.

School: Kent State

Harrison went undrafted in the 2002 NFL Draft. He was signed and released three times by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and then picked up in 2003 by the Baltimore Ravens, who sent him to NFL Europe to play for the Rhein Fire. Harrison was cut for a fourth time and then signed for a fourth time by the Steelers, with whom he remained for the next nine seasons. Harrison was a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams in Pittsburgh. He made one of the greatest plays in the game's history in Super Bowl XLIII.

School: John Carroll

Fletcher spent 16 seasons in the NFL, four with the St. Louis Rams, five with the Buffalo Bills and then seven with the Washington Redskins. He was a member of the Rams team that won Super Bowl XXXIV. Fletcher -- who was a four-time Pro Bowl selection -- is third among position players in most consecutive games played with 265 (Brett Favre is No. 1 with 323).

School: Montclair State

Mills stood just 5-foot-9 and his height turned off NFL teams. He got his big break in the USFL on coach Jim Mora's Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars. Mora -- whose Stars won two USFL championships -- went to coach the New Orleans Saints in 1985, and brought Mills with him. Mills was a vital part of the Saints' famed "Dome Patrol" linebacking corps that helped the Saints become regular playoff contenders in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

School: Valdosta State

The Falcons got a lot out of the undrafted Tuggle, who played each of his 14 NFL seasons in Atlanta. He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the Falcons team that advanced to Super Bowl XXXIII. Tuggle held the NFL record for most fumbles returned for touchdowns with five, a record since surpassed by Jason Taylor (6).

School: Western Nebraska Community College-Scottsbluff

In 1952, Lane just happened to show up at the Los Angeles Rams' training camp because he didn't much like his job at an aircraft factory. He made the team and had one of the greatest rookie seasons in NFL history, setting a single-season interceptions record that still stands with 14 picks (doing so in a 12-game season). Lane played two seasons with the Rams, six with the Chicago Cardinals and then six with the Detroit Lions. Lane finished his career with 68 interceptions, which is good for fourth in NFL history. Lane also developed quite a reputation as a fierce tackler, using a vicious technique that is no longer legal in the game.

School: USC

After becoming the first African-American quarterback in Pac-12 (then the Pacific Coast Conference) conference history, Wood went undrafted. He did get a tryout with the Green Bay Packers, who signed him and shifted Wood to safety. This position switch was a boon for both Wood and the Packers. Wood was an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, a member of five Packers teams that won NFL championships (including the first two Super Bowls) and was a 1989 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

School: Iowa

Tunnell hitchhiked to New York City to ask the Giants for a tryout. Tunnell would go on to play 14 seasons in the NFL, 11 with the Giants and three with the Green Bay Packers. He was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, and a two-time NFL champion (1956 with the Giants, 1961 with the Packers). At the time of his retirement, Tunnell was the NFL's career interceptions leader with 79, a record surpassed by another former Hawkeye, Paul Krause (81). Tunnell was a 1967 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

School: Grambling State

Brown went on to a distinguished 16-year NFL career, spending the first four with the Denver Broncos and the next 12 with the Oakland Raiders. Brown played in two Super Bowls, including the Raiders' triumph in Super Bowl XI, in which he had a 75-yard pick six ("Old man Willie! Touchdown, Raiders!"). He was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and 1984 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

School: South Dakota State

Like Kurt Warner, Brian Waters and James Harrison on this list, Vinatieri's professional football career didn't take off until after a stint in NFL Europe. After playing for the Amsterdam Admirals, Vinatieri signed as a free agent with the New England Patriots. After making the winning field goal in the Patriots' first Super Bowl win, he pulled that feat off again two years later in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Vinatieri has been a part of four Super Bowl-winning teams, three with the Patriots and one with the Indianapolis Colts.

School: Miami (Fla.)

Feagles had a 22-year NFL career spent with five teams (New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants), and retired as the NFL's all-time leader in total punts (1,713) and punting yardage (71,211). Feagles was the punter for the Giants when the team upset the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
