Friedman -- considered the first great forward passer in NFL history -- entered the league nine years before the inaugural draft in 1936. He played one season for the Cleveland Bulldogs (1927), one season for the Detroit Wolverines (1928), three seasons for the New York Giants (1929-1931) and three seasons for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1932-34). 1983 NFL Draft, 12th round, Miami Dolphins -- Rather than play for the Dolphins, Carter opted to play in the upstart USFL. He was a member of the Michigan Panthers for two years (1983-84) and Oakland Invaders for one year (1985). He helped the Panthers win the USFL's first championship game in 1983.
