Bill Belichick
The Patriots’ Bill Belichick, whose six Super Bowl victories are the most of any coach in NFL history, is viewed by some as an evil genius. Often evasive in interviews and occasionally photographed while scowling on the sidelines in a hooded sweatshirt, Belichick – who has led New England to 18 straight winning seasons – is perceived as secretive and mysterious. One-liners like "We're on to Cincinnati" encapsulated many of Belichick's weekly Patriots press conferences. Belichick also brought controversy for his involvement in “Spygate,” in which he was personally fined $500,000 for legally videotaping opposing coaches’ signals. But undeniable is the degree to which Belichick, known as a brilliant tactician, meticulously prepares his teams – from exacting team meetings and high intensity film sessions to requiring his players to tirelessly study playbooks. A sign gracing the Patriots locker room, quoting from the “Art of War,” has said, “Every Battle is Won Before It is Fought.”
