Cam Newton

"Am I a fan of Cam's style? Not so much." - Rachel Lindsay

Cam Newton, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, was the NFL’s 2015 MVP and led that franchise to its second Super Bowl berth. After a whirlwind college career – Newton was briefly a backup to Tim Tebow at Florida, left to attend junior college in Texas, and later won a Heisman Trophy and national title at Auburn – he was drafted first overall by the Panthers in 2011. Wearing No. 1, Newton was an instant and dynamic two-way force in the NFL, throwing for over 4,000 yards and rushing for over 700 in his rookie season. Newton’s childlike on-field enthusiasm – which spawned a variety of elaborate and boastful end zone dances – combined with an extreme confidence and fierce competitiveness, has endeared him to teammates while at times leaving opposing players irked. In his best season, 2015, Newton had 45 total touchdowns, over 4,400 scrimmage yards and led the Panthers to a 15-1 record.
